“The Dead Coast” is a two-page comic created in collaboration with journalist Yazan Al-Saadi for the “Drugs” issue of The Nib‘s print publication. Yazan interviewed an actual Middle Eastern hash dealer, who also has a thing for writing rap lyrics. The result is something like an illustrated music video, where the drug dealer walks us through each step of his process, all while spitting these cryptic rhymes that allude to his circumstances and motivations.
